Questions:
Why are we building it?
For the Glory of God! The Temple ensures we will no longer rent and neither will we worry about encountering space issues.
How will we pay for it?
We will fund the Temple Project through building pledges and other capital financing. New Life Covenant Church is seeking pledged donations from our members to be used toward obtaining collateral for the construction of our project.
How may I prepare to participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving such as II Chronicles 27.
What is a Commitment Card?
A commitment card helps the church to understand what kinds of contributions to expect and when to expect them. By completing this card, you allow the church to move forward with a thoughtful and wise financial plan.
What if my circumstances change after I have made a pledge?
A commitment card is a statement of intent—not a contract. If your financial circumstances change significantly, your giving should also change. Simply contact the church to adjust your commitment pledge. Letting the church know about the change (increase, decrease, or timing) in your giving allows us to plan wisely.
When do I begin giving?
We are asking that you begin making your weekly, monthly, or annual contributions towards your pledge on Celebration Sunday, June 12, 2011.
How long will this Capital Stewardship Campaign last?
We are asking for a three year financial response that formally begins in May 2011. You decide your personal giving schedule whether weekly, monthly, quarterly, one-time contributions, asset transfers, or another schedule of your choice. Decide upon a plan that works best for you and then communicate it to the church to help us understand your giving plan.
Are my contributions tax deductible?
Yes, annual statements will be distributed for all contributions given during a calendar year that will reflect the actual amount given during that year. These statements can be used to support tax deductible contributions according to IRS rules and regulations. For more information please see IRS publication 1771.
